Murder Probe After Man, 75, Found Dead in Bolton Home

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have launched a murder investigation after the body of a 75-year-old man was discovered at a property in Bolton. A 49-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody for questioning.

Incident Details

Officers were called to an address on Ormrod Street in Bolton at approximately 8am on July 17. Upon arrival, they found the man deceased inside the property. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Formal identification has not yet taken place, but next-of-kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers.

Police Appeal

Detective Inspector Louise Kelly of GMP's Major Incident Team said: "I would like to express my deepest condolences to the victim's family and loved ones as they navigate through this loss. They will continue to be supported by our specialist officers during this difficult time. It is our priority to obtain some answers regarding the full circumstances of this tragic incident, and we are appealing for information from the public to help us progress our investigation."

The Major Incident Team is pursuing multiple lines of enquiry to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
