Man died after partner found him in pool of blood

An inquest opening has heard that a man died after his partner discovered him at home in a pool of blood. Unemployed Gavin Wyn Reeve, 37, had drugs in his system at the time of his death, according to the proceedings at Swansea Guildhall.

Discovery at Clydach flat

Mr Reeve's partner, Nicola Janes, found him at his flat in Players Avenue, Clydach, at around 1pm on November 19, 2025. Coroner's officer Gareth Heatley told the court that Mr Reeve was lying in a pool of blood with blue tablets around him.

Emergency services were called, and Home Office pathologist Dr Stephen Leadbeatter was instructed to examine the body. Dr Leadbeatter found nothing to suggest third-party involvement or foul play.
