A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted child abduction following a report that a child was approached by someone in Barrow.
Incident on Rawlinson Street
Cumbria Police said they are investigating an incident which is alleged to have happened on Rawlinson Street in Barrow on Wednesday evening. The man is currently in police custody having come forward following reports circulating online.
Police request for public cooperation
Officers have requested that members of the public allow them to carry out their work and establish the factual circumstances of what has occurred, and to refrain from unhelpful online speculation particularly now there is an individual in custody.
