Niall Worsfold, 29, of Farrow Road, Leeds, has been charged with the murder of his one-month-old son, six years after the baby's death. The infant passed away in hospital on July 10, 2020, after being admitted on July 4, 2020, from an address in Lincombe Drive, Gledhow, West Yorkshire Police confirmed.

Court appearance and additional charges

Worsfold is due to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court on Thursday, July 9, charged with murder and an additional count of child cruelty. He has been remanded in custody pending the hearing.

Investigation details

The charges follow an investigation by detectives from West Yorkshire Police Homicide and Major Enquiry Team. A 25-year-old woman who had been arrested as part of the inquiry has been released with no further action taken against her.
