Greggs Staff Threatened by Knife-Wielding Men in Liverpool

Two men armed with a knife threatened staff at a Greggs store in Liverpool city centre before attempting to steal food items, according to Merseyside Police. The incident occurred at the Greggs on Roe Street, near Queens Square bus station, at approximately 12:55 PM on Thursday, July 9.

Failed Robbery Attempt

The suspects entered the store and threatened employees, with one believed to be carrying a wooden-handled knife. They attempted to steal food but fled the scene on foot towards Liverpool Lime Street without success. Police were called and investigations are ongoing.

Police Appeal for Information

Detectives have released images of two men they believe may have information about the robbery. Detective Constable Robert McKee stated: "As part of our investigation, we would like to speak to the two males pictured, as they may hold valuable information to assist this work. Likewise, if you were in the area and witnessed this incident, please come forward." He added: "Threats towards hard-working staff in our businesses will never be tolerated and we will proactively investigate all such incidents to keep our city centre safe."
