An eight-year-old girl is among three family members found dead in a suspected double murder suicide in Ballymena, Northern Ireland. The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said the bodies of a man, woman and female child were discovered at a property in the Old Cullybackey Road area on the morning of July 13.
Police Investigation Underway
Mid & East Antrim District Commander Superintendent William Calderwood confirmed that the deaths are being treated as a "double murder sudden death". He stated that police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident and that there is no threat to the wider community.
Officers remain at the scene, and a post-mortem examination is expected to take place in due course to determine the exact causes of death.
Community Shocked
The local community has been left shocked by the tragedy. Neighbors described the family as quiet and kept to themselves. One resident said: "It's absolutely devastating. You never expect something like this to happen on your doorstep."
Superintendent Calderwood added: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of those who have died at this difficult time." He urged anyone with information to come forward and assist with the investigation.
