A major house fire in Cimla, Neath, has left a property's roof almost completely destroyed, with crime scene investigators remaining at the scene on Monday afternoon. Emergency services were called to Bryn Y Broch at 5:06am on Monday, July 20, 2026, after the blaze broke out on the first floor.
Emergency Response and Evacuation
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service dispatched crews from Neath, Morriston, and Port Talbot fire stations. Firefighters used two main jets, two hose reel jets, and four breathing apparatus sets to bring the fire under control. A turntable ladder and a water bowser were also deployed. Crews left the scene at 7:13am after just over two hours of work.
South Wales Police officers arrived at 5:12am following a report of the fire. All occupants were safely evacuated, and there were no reported casualties, according to a police spokesperson.
Investigation Underway
Images from the scene show the roof of the property almost completely destroyed, with the upper level devastated. The street remains cordoned off as a crime scene investigation unit conducts enquiries. The cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed, and investigations are ongoing.
A South Wales Police spokesperson stated: "Officers were called to Bryn Y Broch, Neath at 5:12am today (Monday, July 20) following a report of a property fire. There have been no reported casualties and occupants have been evacuated."
