Car rammed into Sunderland salon, offenders flee in second vehicle

A car was deliberately driven into the shutters of Queen B Hair and Beauty Clinic on Hylton Road in Sunderland on Sunday night, causing significant damage. The offenders then fled the scene in a different vehicle.

Police and firefighters responded to the incident at around 10.30pm. Video footage posted on social media shows the vehicle inside the salon. Nobody is believed to have been injured.

Police appeal for information

Northumbria Police received a report of criminal damage at the premises in the Millfield area. A spokesperson for the force said: "At about 10.30pm yesterday (Sunday) we received a report of criminal damage at a premises on Hylton Road in the Millfield area of Sunderland. It was reported that a vehicle had been purposely driven into the shutters of the premises, causing significant damage."

The spokesperson added: "The offenders are then reported to have left the scene in a different vehicle without gaining entry to the premises. No-one is reported to have been injured in the incident and enquiries are ongoing."

Witnesses urged to come forward

The business, which specialises in hair loss, has since been boarded up. Police have urged anyone with information to contact them via social media, live chat, or report forms on their website, or to call 101, quoting reference number NP-20260816-1212. Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service has been contacted for comment.
