Car Mows Down Woman in Linwood Murder Bid

Chilling footage has emerged of a horrifying attempted murder in Linwood, where a driver deliberately mowed down a woman at a bus stop in broad daylight. The incident occurred on Clippens Road at approximately 3:45 PM on June 30, 2025.

Victim Hospitalised After Deliberate Attack

A 49-year-old woman was standing at a bus stop when a white Vauxhall Corsa suddenly mounted the pavement and struck her. The victim was thrown onto the bonnet before landing on the pavement. She was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

Footage Captures Attack

Video taken by a bystander shows two women at the bus stop as the car speeds towards them. Both women attempt to jump out of the way, but the vehicle strikes one of them before speeding off. Police are treating the incident as attempted murder and have launched an investigation to trace the driver.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Detective Sergeant Kenny Taggart of Paisley CID said: "Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances and trace the car involved. I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident and hasn’t already spoken to officers to come forward. I would also ask anyone who was in the area and who may have dash cam or private CCTV which could assist to contact us."
