British Transport Police (BTP) are appealing for information after a man was assaulted with glass bottles on a London Underground train, leaving him with a fractured jaw and significant head injuries.
Details of the incident
The robbery took place at approximately 6am on Saturday, 9 May, while the victim was travelling on a Victoria line service from Stockwell to London Victoria. According to investigators, two men approached the passenger, and one of them picked up his bag from the adjacent seat.
When the victim reclaimed his property, the suspects attacked him with glass bottles, smashing them repeatedly over his head. The assault continued onto the platform at Victoria station before the offenders fled the scene.
The victim sustained a fractured jaw and required ten stitches to wounds on his head. He was later treated in hospital.
Police appeal
BTP have released CCTV images of two individuals they believe may hold vital information about the attack. Officers are urging anyone who recognises the men to come forward.
