A 15-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with murder after a teenager was stabbed to death at a council headquarters building.
David Wynter, 17, suffered fatal injuries after he was stabbed at Brent Civic Centre on Engineers Way, Wembley, north-west London, shortly before 2.30pm on Tuesday, the Metropolitan Police previously said.
Court appearance and charges
The 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Thursday charged with murder and possession of a blade, namely a knife, in a public place.
He spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth during the brief hearing.
Remand and next steps
The youth was remanded in custody and the case was sent to the Old Bailey.
The Met said on Wednesday that the victim’s next-of-kin are being supported by specially trained officers.
