YouTuber Billy Moore and Paul Carragher have been charged after an alleged fight in a David Lloyd changing room. Merseyside Police was called to the Knowsley Industrial Estate, on Arbour Lane in Kirkby, at around 6.10pm on April 27. It was reported two men were injured after reportedly fighting inside the men's changing area. Merseyside Police confirmed at the time that two suspects were found at the scene and subsequently arrested on suspicion of affray.
Charges and court appearance
Moore, a YouTuber who presents the All or Nothing podcast, later confirmed he was one of the men involved in the alleged brawl. And Moore took to his social media channels on Friday to confirm he had been charged in connection with the incident. Merseyside Police confirmed today that former boxer Moore, 53 and of Fulshaw Close in Netherley, and Paul Carragher, 46 and of Warren Road in Crosby, have both been charged with using threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour with intent to cause fear or provocation of unlawful violence.
Both men have been conditionally bailed to appear at Liverpool Magistrates' Court next month. Carragher will appear first on Tuesday, September 1, while Moore will appear on Wednesday, September 9.
Video shows altercation
A widely shared online video showed two topless men wearing shorts grappling next to the lockers inside the changing rooms with people watching on. The pair appear to be holding each other and attempting to swing punches before they push each other away. One of the men appeared to have blood dripping down his face and onto his chest. In another video, the man with blood on his face is seen speaking with police officers in another area of the gym.
A witness told the ECHO that gym staff were called over the public address system to the men's changing room following reports of the altercation breaking out.
