Ann Widdecombe Murder Timeline: Police Hunt White Male Suspect

Devon and Cornwall Police have released a detailed timeline of former MP and MEP Ann Widdecombe's final hours, revealing she was attacked nearly a full day before her body was discovered. The 26-year-old white British man arrested on Friday on suspicion of her murder has been released from custody without charge.

Attack Occurred Wednesday Afternoon

Police believe the attack took place at Widdecombe's home in Haytor, Dartmoor, at around 12:30 PM on Wednesday. Her body was not found until 11:40 AM on Thursday, after she sustained serious injuries. Assistant Chief Constable Matt Longman stated that her death is being treated as suspicious but emphasised that there is no wider risk to the public.

Suspect Description Released

“Our inquiries are moving at pace for a suspect who is believed to be a white male,” Longman said. The arrested man, also a white British male, was released on Saturday. Police continue to appeal for information and have set up a major incident public portal for submissions.
