A 75-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a 70-year-old woman in east London.
Police were called to an address on Boulton Road, Dagenham on Sunday June 14, after London Ambulance Service staff raised concerns for the welfare of a woman.
She was declared dead at the scene, while a 75-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder. He was taken to hospital, where he remains.
Detective Inspector Mark Waker said: "We know how concerning this news will be for the local community, and our officers will remain in the area today to provide reassurance."
"Our thoughts remain with the loved ones of the woman who died. Detectives continue to work to establish exactly what has taken place, but at this time believe this was an isolated incident."
Police have urged anyone with any information to call 101 quoting CAD 5415/14June.
