Cumbria Police have launched an urgent search for nine-year-old Saoirse Shannon, who disappeared from Barrow yesterday evening. Officers say they are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare.
Last Seen in Barrow
Saoirse was last seen on Schneider Road in Barrow at approximately 6.10pm on Friday, July 17, 2026. Police describe her as white, around 4ft 7ins tall, with a slim build and shoulder-length hair.
Distinctive Clothing
When she disappeared, Saoirse was wearing a pink T-shirt featuring the Stitch character from the Disney film Lilo & Stitch, a pink rainbow netted skirt, knee-length multi-coloured socks with rabbits on them, and clear-coloured sandals. Police are urging anyone who sees her to call 999 immediately.
Appeal for Information
Anyone with information that could help find Saoirse is asked to contact Cumbria Police online, quoting incident number 238 of July 17, 2026, or call 101. Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a child matching her description in the Barrow area after 6.10pm on Friday.
