Husband Fights for Life After Wife Dies in Spain Crash

Ian McCullagh, 35, is fighting for his life in a Spanish hospital after a devastating car crash that killed his wife, brother, and his brother's girlfriend. The four were on holiday in Malaga when their vehicle plunged 100 feet into a ravine off the A7 motorway in the early hours of June 28.

Victims Identified

The deceased have been named as Amy McCullagh, from County Westmeath in Ireland; her brother-in-law Mark McCullagh, 35; and his girlfriend Michaela Newcombe. Amy, a mother of three, died alongside the other two in the single-vehicle accident. Ian sustained serious injuries and remains hospitalized.

Funeral Arrangements

Amy's funeral will take place at the Church of the Nativity in Ballynacargy on Friday, followed by burial at Sonna Cemetery. The family has requested that donations be directed to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, which helps repatriate the remains of Irish citizens who die abroad, according to the Irish Mirror.

Amy's death notice read: 'It is with great sadness we share the news of the death of our beloved daughter Amy, following a tragic road accident in Spain, alongside her brother-in-law Mark and his girlfriend Michaela.
