Man in His 20s Dies in M1 Crash Near Milton Keynes

A man in his 20s has died after his car crashed into a metal barrier on the M1 motorway in Northamptonshire. The incident occurred between Junction 14 for Milton Keynes and Junction 15 for Northampton at around 10:40pm on Tuesday, December 16.

Northamptonshire Police said the driver of a white Mercedes was in collision with the nearside metal barrier for an unknown reason. Despite efforts from members of the public and police officers, the man, from the West Midlands, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The motorway was closed overnight in both directions while emergency services and National Highways teams worked at the scene. All lanes reopened shortly before 8am on Wednesday, with traffic flowing freely again.

Police are appealing for witnesses, particularly anyone with dash-cam footage that may have captured the collision.
