A man has been arrested after a car crashed into a barrier outside the Houses of Parliament in Westminster, London. The incident occurred shortly after 07:30 BST, prompting a response from armed police, ambulances, and firefighters.
The silver vehicle swerved into cyclists and pedestrians, injuring three people. One woman is being treated in hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Streets around Millbank and Parliament Square were cordoned off for several hours following the crash.
Scotland Yard has stated that they are treating the crash as a terrorist incident. Armed police were also seen on Victoria Embankment in Westminster as part of the response.
