Two individuals have been transported to hospital following a collision on the A1 in Northumberland. The incident occurred on the southbound carriageway near Alnwick shortly before 9:20 AM on Thursday, June 11.
Emergency Response
Police and paramedics attended the scene promptly. Two people were taken to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington for medical assessment. Two other individuals received treatment at the scene and were subsequently discharged.
A lane of the southbound carriageway was temporarily closed to facilitate emergency services. The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) dispatched two ambulances and a clinical team leader.

A NEAS spokesperson stated: "We received a call at 9:18 AM on June 11 regarding a road traffic incident on the A1 near Alnwick. We dispatched two double-crewed ambulances and a clinical team leader. Two patients were treated and discharged at the scene, while two were taken to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital."
Northumbria Police confirmed that the injuries of the hospitalized individuals are not believed to be serious. A police spokesperson added: "At 9:20 AM today, we received a report of a two-vehicle collision on the A1 southbound at Alnwick. Two cars were involved. Two people were taken to hospital as a precaution for injuries not thought to be serious. The vehicles have been recovered, and the road has fully reopened."
