A passenger train collided with a truck at a level crossing in Sokolniki Suche, Poland, on September 9, killing one person and injuring 20 others. Part of the train derailed following the impact, according to fire officials.
Over 100 Passengers Onboard
The train was traveling on the Lublin-Szczecin route when the collision occurred. Fire officials reported that more than 100 people were on board at the time.
In a statement, the local fire service said: "In the locality of Sokolniki Suche, a collision occurred between a truck and a passenger train at a railway-road crossing. As a result of the incident, part of the train derailed."
Medical Response and Casualties
Medical triage of the injured was conducted at the scene. Four people were handed over to the teams of the State Emergency Medical Service, including two who were transported by helicopters of the Air Emergency Medical Service.
