A motorist has admitted causing the death of a woman after his Range Rover smashed through a barrier and ended up on Tube tracks in west London. Rida Kazem, 23, pleaded guilty at Isleworth Crown Court to causing death by dangerous driving over the crash near Park Royal station on 22 August.
The court heard that Kazem was driving a Range Rover carrying Yagmur Ozden, 33, when he hit a parked Tesla and lost control. Ms Ozden, a beautician who lived in Finchley, was pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger, Zamarod Arif, sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.
Kazem, who lost a leg in the crash, also admitted causing serious injury by dangerous driving in relation to Ms Arif. The court was told he had previous speeding convictions, including one recent offence for driving at 95mph in a 50mph zone.
Residents near the scene reported hearing loud engine noises before a "huge bash". An inquest into Ms Ozden's death was opened and adjourned in August.
Prosecutor Nicholas Hearn outlined the case as Judge Robin Johnson adjourned sentencing for a pre-sentencing report. Kazem, from Greenford, was remanded in custody and is due to appear at the same court on 21 April.
