Ryanair Flight Diverted After Unruly Stag Party Chaos Over France
Ryanair flight diverted after stag party chaos

A Ryanair flight travelling from London Luton to Alicante was forced into an unexpected diversion to Toulouse after a rowdy stag party created chaos onboard, prompting crew to declare an emergency situation.

The incident occurred on flight FR9015 on Thursday evening when what was described as a "large group" of passengers became increasingly disruptive. According to eyewitness accounts, the situation escalated to the point where cabin crew felt they could no longer maintain control or ensure passenger safety.

Emergency Landing in Southern France

The aircraft made an unscheduled landing at Toulouse–Blagnac Airport in southern France, where French police and security personnel met the flight. Several members of the stag party were removed from the aircraft by authorities amid the tense situation.

One passenger aboard the flight reported witnessing "absolute carnage" as the group's behaviour deteriorated during the journey. The disruption reportedly included excessive drinking, shouting, and refusal to follow crew instructions.

Extended Delay and Passenger Frustration

Following the removal of the disruptive passengers, the remaining travellers faced a lengthy delay of approximately five hours before the flight could continue to its original destination. The aircraft eventually departed Toulouse and arrived in Alicante significantly behind schedule.

Many passengers expressed frustration at the disruption to their travel plans, with some missing connecting transport and holiday arrangements due to the substantial delay.

Ryanair's Response

In a statement regarding the incident, a Ryanair spokesperson confirmed: "The crew of this flight from London Luton to Alicante requested police assistance upon arrival at Toulouse Airport after a number of passengers became disruptive in-flight."

The airline emphasised that such behaviour "will not be tolerated" and praised their crew for following proper safety procedures. Ryanair has implemented increasingly strict policies regarding alcohol consumption and passenger behaviour in recent years following several similar incidents.

The incident highlights ongoing challenges airlines face with disruptive passengers, particularly on routes popular with holidaymakers and stag parties travelling to European destinations.
