Ryanair has updated its list of prohibited items in hand luggage, with darts now banned as they are classified as blunt instruments capable of causing injury. The airline's website states that any blunt instrument that could be used to cause harm is not allowed in the cabin, including sporting equipment such as tennis rackets and baseball bats.
Passengers are also reminded that pointed or edged weapons, sharp objects, guns, firearms, explosives, and chemical or toxic substances are prohibited. The control of liquids, aerosols, and gels follows current EU Security Requirements.
The airline recently raised its luggage costs. Priority boarding, which allows a 10kg wheelie suitcase and an additional bag, now costs between £6 and £10. Without priority, passengers can only bring one small cabin bag measuring up to 40 cm x 20 cm x 25 cm, which must be stowed under the seat.
Checking in a 10kg bag has increased from £8 to between £10 and £12. Additionally, printing a boarding card at the airport now costs £25, up from £20.
