The journey from Paris Nord station to Berlin spans approximately 15 hours, traversing through Brussels along the way. For example, a departure at 6:03 PM from Paris arrives in Berlin by 9:02 AM the following morning. Current pricing for this service starts at £163.50, plus a modest £2.99 booking fee, making it a competitive option compared to traditional air travel.
Sustainable Travel and Market Expansion
Chris Engelsman, co-founder of European Sleeper, emphasized the gradual development of this network, stating: 'Building a network doesn't happen overnight. But step by step, we are proving that night train connections between major cities can work, for travellers and as a sustainable business.' Elmer van Buuren, another co-founder, added that this initiative aims to open up the European rail market, fostering competition and better integrated cross-border services.
In a significant expansion, the company has announced plans to introduce a new direct route to Milan starting in September. This service will originate in Brussels, passing through Cologne, Zürich, Lugano, and Lake Como before reaching Milan overnight, further enhancing connectivity across the continent.
