Monklands will experience significant travel disruption this month as multiple roads are set to close for essential maintenance works, including ironwork repairs, carriageway surface dressing, and carriageway patching.
Surface Dressing Closures in Airdrie
Five days of carriageway surface dressing will see Airdrie's Kipps Byre Road and Whinhall Road close from July 20. The closure will be from the B803 Coatbridge Road to Ballochney Street. Drivers will be diverted via Mavisbank Street, the B802 Commonside Street, and Glenmavis Road.
Iron Mains Replacement in Coatbridge
Wallace Street in Coatbridge will be shut for four days from July 27 for an iron mains replacement by SGN. The affected area is between the junctions of Dundyvan Road and Hozier Street. Diversions will use the B753 Dundyvan Road, Newlands Street, and the A725 Whifflet Street.
Carriageway Patching on Dykehead Road
Carriageway patching works will result in a full-day closure of Dykehead Road, Airdrie, on July 27. The closure runs from the roundabout at Broompark Crescent to Thrashbush Quadrant. Alternative routes include Roughcraig Street, the A73 Black Street, and Stirling Road.
Drumfin Avenue Closure Without Diversions
Caldercruix's Drumfin Avenue will be closed for four days from July 27 for carriageway patching between Elswick Drive and its termination at the school gates. No diverted routes will be available during this closure.
Ironwork Repairs on Park Street
Ironwork repairs by Scottish Water will close Park Street in Airdrie, between the A8010 Aitchison Street and Hyslop Street, from 9:30 am on July 29 until 7 am the following day. Diversions will be via Wilson Street, Robertson Street, Seath Avenue, and Hyslop Street.
