Passengers face disruption on Manchester's Metrolink system after a serious incident at the Market Street tram stop. Police have taped off the stop and a large emergency response, including ambulance vehicles, is at the scene. The nature of the incident has not yet been confirmed.
Service Disruptions
No trams are running between Manchester Victoria and Piccadilly stations. The Market Street stop is fully closed. The incident affects services on the Ashton-under-Lyne to Eccles line and the Bury to Piccadilly line.
Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) stated on its website: "Due to a police incident, services on the Bury Line are operating Bury - Victoria only. Services on the Ashton Line are operating Ashton - Piccadilly only. There are no services between Victoria - Piccadilly. We are sorry for any inconvenience to your journey."
