The A57 Mancunian Way, one of Manchester's busiest roads, will be closed for two days this weekend for essential safety inspections and maintenance. The closure begins at 6am on Saturday, June 27 and ends at 6am on Monday, June 29.
Full Closure Details
Both sides of the carriageway will be shut from the Chester Road roundabout to Fairfield Street, including all slip roads. The work involves annual safety checks, inspections, and necessary repairs, according to Manchester City Council.
Diversion Routes
A signed diversion route will be in place, directing traffic via Trinity Way, Great Ancoats Street, Bridgewater Viaduct, Whitworth Street West, Whitworth Street, and Fairfield Street.
Advice for Drivers
Drivers have been warned of significant disruption and advised to allow extra time, check their routes, and consider alternative travel methods. The closure is scheduled to be lifted by 6am on Monday, June 29.
