Emergency services attended a major road traffic collision in Rochdale on the evening of December 4. The incident occurred at the junction of Bolton Road and Eskdale Avenue, prompting road closures and a public appeal to avoid the area.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service reported that two cars were involved. One woman had to be cut from a vehicle and was taken to hospital. Four other people sustained injuries and were treated at the scene.
A staff member from a nearby dessert shop, Cube Desserts Rochdale, told the Manchester Evening News that the road remained closed with numerous emergency vehicles present. He mentioned hearing that someone had been 'stuck' in their car.
The fire service advised the public to avoid the area while investigations and recovery operations were underway.
