A serious collision involving a motorcycle and a car brought significant disruption to the M25 in Surrey on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred on the anticlockwise carriageway between Junction 10 (Wisley) and Junction 9 (Leatherhead), leading to the closure of two lanes.
Emergency services attended the scene, and the motorway was partially shut as recovery work took place. National Highways reported long delays in excess of 60 minutes, with queues stretching up to six miles. Drivers were advised to allow extra journey time.
All lanes were reopened by around 5:45pm, but residual delays persisted for some time. Traffic eventually eased, and the scene was cleared. The exact circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
