Serious Collision Blocks M25 in Both Directions

Drivers are enduring hour-long delays on the M25 after a serious collision in Surrey on what is expected to be the hottest day of the year. The incident occurred at junction 6 (Godstone), south of Caterham, this morning, June 24, 2026.

Footage from the scene shows a tent erected on the side of the road, indicating the severity of the crash. National Highways confirmed that the motorway is blocked in both directions while an air ambulance works at the scene.

Traffic Stationary Amid Extreme Heat

Traffic is stationary on the UK's busiest motorway during an ongoing heatwave, with temperatures approaching 30°C in the area. The road surface is likely to be several degrees hotter, adding to the discomfort for stranded drivers.
