Major M25 Delays After Morning Collision
Severe traffic chaos has hit the M25 this morning following a serious road traffic collision. Motorists are facing massive delays of up to 60 minutes above their normal travel time on the anti-clockwise carriageway.
Closures and Congestion
The incident has led to the closure of three lanes between Junction 8 for Reigate and Junction 7 for the Redhill area. This critical closure on the UK's busiest orbital motorway has resulted in gridlock conditions stretching back for miles.
National Highways, which is managing the incident, has confirmed that ongoing clear-up works are taking place at the scene. In an official statement, they advised: "Please allow extra time if travelling in the area as delays of 60 mins above normal travel time. Thanks for your patience."
When Will the M25 Clear?
The clear-up operation is underway, but the disruption is expected to last for much of the day. Authorities have stated that the road is not expected to return to normal until between 12:15 pm and 12:30 pm today.
Drivers are being strongly urged to plan alternative routes if possible or allow significant additional time for their journeys. The situation is fluid, and further updates are expected as recovery efforts continue.
