Councils across the Liverpool City Region have issued a list of public notices in the past seven days. These documents act as a public record of key decisions and keep citizens informed of their council's decision making.
From planning applications to bins and parking, councils are duty bound to make their decisions available to the public. This is part of the transparency and accountability policies all local authorities must adhere to.
Public notices are surfaced on the main pages of local news websites, enhancing people's access to information about planning, construction, transport links, roadworks, and licensing changes in their local area.
Liverpool parking and U-turn restrictions
Liverpool City Council has issued two temporary traffic orders under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984. The first concerns the Mann Island area, where the existing Parking Places and Controlled Parking Zone Order, 2009 is suspended and varied to introduce temporary no-waiting and no-loading restrictions, plus loading bays for vehicles.
The temporary loading bays, which operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, allow vehicles to load or unload for a maximum of 30 minutes. Vehicles must park wholly within the limits of the bay and parallel to the kerbline. The order is operative from 17 September 2026 to 5 February 2028, or until a permanent variation is introduced.
A second order prohibits U-turn manoeuvres at the junction of Speke Hall Road and Hillfoot Avenue in L25. The order, which facilitates existing highways junction improvement works, is operative from 8 September 2026 to 17 February 2028, or until a permanent Traffic Regulation Order is introduced.
Wirral road closures in Heswall and Wallasey
Wirral Borough Council has made two temporary traffic restriction orders. The first closes Sandy Lane, Heswall, from its junction with Pensby Road for a distance of 30 metres in an easterly direction to all vehicular traffic. Pedestrian and cyclist access will be maintained. The alternative route is Pensby Road, Whitfield Lane, Sandy Lane.
The order is in force from 14 September 2026 for up to 18 months, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 25 September 2026. The second order closes the rear access of Wright Street, Wallasey at its south-east corner to all vehicular traffic. Pedestrian and cyclist access will be maintained. The alternative route is Wright Street, Tobin Street, King Street, Kinglake Road.
This order is also in force from 14 September 2026 for up to 18 months, with works anticipated to be completed by 18 September 2026.
Goods vehicle operator licences in Sefton and Knowsley
Two applications for goods vehicle operator licences have been made. In Sefton, Mr Joshua Molyneux trading with ALPS Access Solutions Ltd of Unit 11 The Box Works, Heysham Road, Liverpool, L30 6UR is applying for a licence to use the same address as an operating centre for two goods vehicles and no trailers.
In Knowsley, Viking Life-Saving Equipment of Marine Base, Breydon Rd, Great Yarmouth NR31 0AJ is applying for a licence to use Unit 1 Wilson Rd, Huyton, Liverpool L36 6AF as an operating centre for one goods vehicle and no trailers.
Owners or occupiers of land near the operating centres who believe their use or enjoyment of that land would be affected should make written representations to the Traffic Commissioner at Quarry House, Quarry Hill, Leeds, LS2 7UE within 21 days of the notice, and send a copy to the applicant.
