Jet2 has issued a reminder to all UK passengers to check their flight information at least 12 hours before departure, as the busy summer travel season gets underway. The airline, which operates from 14 UK airports to over 75 European destinations, advises travellers to visit the 'latest travel information' section of its website for updates.
Jet2, the UK's largest package holiday provider and a leading airline, expects millions of passengers this year. The guidance states: 'Please check this section of the website at least 12 hours before your flight for the latest flight information.' It also recommends arriving at the airport at least two hours before departure, noting that check-in desks close 40 minutes before the scheduled time.
New Routes and Destinations
Jet2 has recently announced several new routes, including flights to Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt starting in 2027. In 2026, new services to Thassos in Greece and Enfidha-Hammamet in Tunisia will launch. The airline currently flies from London Gatwick, London Luton, London Stansted, Liverpool John Lennon, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Leeds Bradford, Belfast, East Midlands, Birmingham, Bristol, and Bournemouth airports.
Post-Brexit Travel Regulations
All UK travellers are reminded that following Brexit, new rules apply for trips to Europe. Passports must have a date of issue within 10 years of the arrival date in the Schengen area. If a passport was renewed before October 1, 2018, it may show a date of issue exceeding 10 years, making it invalid for entry into Schengen countries such as Spain.
British passport holders can only visit the Schengen area for 90 days within any 180-day period. Additionally, under the new Entry/Exit System (EES), travellers must scan their passport, have a photograph taken, and provide four fingerprints upon entry. EES applies to 29 European countries, including Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Spain, and Switzerland.
Jet2's Operations teams work from their UK headquarters to manage any flight disruption and get passengers on their way as soon as possible.
