Jet2 Extends No Fuel Surcharge Guarantee to 2028

Jet2 has extended its No Fuel Surcharge guarantee to cover all flights and holidays through summer 2028, providing passengers with certainty on pricing despite rising fuel costs linked to uncertainty in the Middle East. The airline and package holiday provider confirmed it will not pass on extra fuel costs to customers this winter or for the next two years.

Guarantee Extended Across Seasons

The guarantee now applies to winter 2026/26 flights and holidays, as well as the Summer 27, Winter 27/28, and Summer 28 seasons. It covers all Jet2 flights and holidays booked through any channel, including online, via the mobile app, contact centre, or through an independent travel agent.

David Hills, Chief Customer Officer at Jet2, said: "Customers work and save hard for their holidays, so they deserve certainty from the moment they book. As they plan their getaways this winter and beyond, we are reaffirming our No Fuel Surcharges guarantee and making it clear that the price customers book with Jet2 is the price they will pay, with no fuel surcharge added later."

Contrast with Other Airlines

Jet2's announcement contrasts with other budget airlines. In September, Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary said he has "no doubt" that air fares will rise next year. Speaking at a press conference, Mr O'Leary said: "Fares for Ryanair passengers and every other passenger into the summer of 2027 are going to rise materially, I believe, because of significantly higher oil prices. I have no doubt fares are rising next year. The question is by how much."

Meanwhile, EasyJet announced it would cut a further 700,000 seats from its winter flight schedule due to rising fuel costs, as reported by The Independent. The airline's chief executive Kenton Jarvis told the Financial Times: "I honestly think it's been quite a surprise for the industry that fuel has stayed as high as it is."

The extended guarantee means Jet2 customers booking now can expect no fuel surcharges added later, regardless of when they choose to travel.
