Home Bargains has urged shoppers to rush to stores this week as temperatures continue to rise across the UK, warning that some of its most popular summer products 'are not going to last'. The discount retailer shared images on Instagram showing shelves stocked with paddling pools, BBQs, fans, and outdoor toys, but cautioned that customers need to act quickly.
In the social media post, Home Bargains wrote: 'Everything you need for the heatwave is at Home Bargains right now and it is NOT going to last.' The chain highlighted prices starting from £3.99 for paddling pools, £2.49 for BBQs, £9.99 for fans, and 99p for outdoor toys, adding: 'You already know how fast the fans and pools go every year. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.'
While many shoppers praised the deals, others complained that their local stores did not match the fully stocked displays shown online. One frustrated customer claimed they had travelled across multiple locations in the North West, York, and North Wales searching for Mrs Hinch tealight holders and hurricane candle holders, but came away empty-handed. Another shopper noted that shelves at their local store in Banbridge, County Down, were regularly empty despite nationwide restock announcements, calling it 'very disappointing'.
Despite the complaints, demand for cooling products is expected to surge as forecasters predict more scorching weather. Fans, paddling pools, and portable cooling gadgets are among the fastest-selling summer items across UK retailers during heatwaves, and shoppers are being warned not to leave it too late if they want to stay cool this summer.
