Home Bargains has issued an urgent call for shoppers to visit its stores this week as temperatures continue to rise across the UK, warning that some of its most popular summer items "are not going to last."
Summer Must-Haves Flying Off Shelves
As Britons brace for another heatwave, the discount retailer shared images on social media showcasing shelves filled with summer essentials, including paddling pools, BBQs, fans, and outdoor toys. However, the chain cautioned that customers need to act quickly to secure these bargains before stocks run out.
In an Instagram post, Home Bargains wrote: "Everything you need for the heatwave is at Home Bargains right now and it is NOT going to last." The retailer confirmed that paddling pools start from £3.99, BBQs from £2.49, fans from £9.99, and outdoor toys from just 99p. The post continued: "You already know how fast the fans and pools go every year. Don't say we didn't warn you."
Mixed Reactions from Shoppers
While many shoppers praised the deals, others expressed frustration, claiming their local stores did not match the fully stocked displays shown online. One disgruntled customer revealed they had travelled across several locations in the North West, as well as York and North Wales, searching for items from the Mrs Hinch range, only to return empty-handed.
Another disappointed shopper commented: "Definitely didn't look like that at Orpington today." A customer in Banbridge, County Down, added that shelves were often bare despite nationwide restocking announcements, calling it "very disappointing."
High Demand Expected
Despite the complaints, large numbers of shoppers are still expected to flock to stores this week as temperatures climb and demand for cooling products surges. Each summer, fans, paddling pools, and portable cooling gadgets become some of the fastest-selling items at UK retailers during heatwaves.
With forecasters predicting more sweltering conditions ahead, shoppers are advised not to delay if they hope to keep cool this summer.
