Gatwick £2.2bn expansion: Court of Appeal bid fails

Campaigners have lost a bid to take their legal fight against the Government over plans to expand Gatwick Airport to the Court of Appeal.

Expansion plans

The £2.2 billion expansion would see the emergency runway moved 12 metres north to accommodate around 100,000 more flights a year.

The decision marks a significant setback for opponents of the airport's growth plans.
