A forklift driver in Birmingham was caught on camera lifting and moving a badly parked car that was blocking a lorry's delivery entrance. The incident occurred on Studley Street in Sparkbrook, where a Volkswagen Tiguan SUV was parked in a no-parking zone, obstructing access to a business yard.
Ahmed Hussain, a 28-year-old worker for Haven Autocare, witnessed the scene and filmed it. He said the car had been there since early morning and was blocking the delivery lorry. The forklift operator lifted the vehicle, triggering its alarm, and safely repositioned it further down the road.
Hussain told Luxury Auto News: 'The owner wasn't back for a while. It wasn't blocking my business, but it was parked in a no-parking area.' He added that the forklift appeared to belong to the business expecting the delivery.
The incident echoes a 2022 case in County Durham, where farmer Robert Hooper used a telehandler to move a car parked on his land. Hooper was cleared of dangerous driving after arguing he had a lawful right to defend his property, citing a 400-year-old legal precedent.
