Emergency crews have been deployed to evacuate passengers and crew after a fire broke out aboard the Mutiara Sentosa 2 ferry off the coast of Indonesia.
At least five people have died and 41 more are missing, with a major search and rescue operation now under way. The ferry was carrying 250 passengers and crew when the fire started.
Fire started hours after departure
The vessel had departed a port in Surabaya heading for Makassar, and the fire is understood to have started just hours after it left.
Search and rescue teams are working to evacuate those on board as emergency boats have been dispatched to the scene.
