easyJet has clarified that its standard baggage rules may not apply to passengers travelling for a special occasion, such as a wedding. While the airline typically enforces strict cabin baggage size requirements, exceptions are made for wedding attire and suit carriers, subject to certain conditions.
Wedding Outfits: What You Need to Know
According to easyJet's official website, passengers wishing to bring a wedding outfit on board must have a large cabin bag allowance. This allowance is included with easyJet Plus, Inclusive Plus, and Smart+ fares, or can be purchased separately. The airline offers a specific wedding travel box that fits within the large cabin bag dimensions, or a garment bag that can be stored in overhead lockers. Notably, garment bags for wedding outfits do not need to meet the usual cabin bag dimensions, provided they can be folded and stored easily. Alternatively, wedding outfits can be checked into the hold as hold luggage.
Suits and Garment Bags
A similar policy applies to passengers carrying suit carriers or garment bags. These items also require a large cabin bag allowance, but do not need to conform to standard size restrictions as long as they can be easily stored and folded in the overhead locker. This flexibility aims to help passengers look their best for important events.
Camera Equipment Restrictions
Members of the wedding party may also need to consider rules for camera recording equipment. To bring such equipment on board, passengers must have a large cabin bag allowance. Cameras are exempt from the normal baggage size restrictions (maximum dimensions 63cm x 27cm x 28cm) but must be stored length-wise in the overhead locker to minimize space usage. They are not required to be inside a bag, but cannot be kept under the seat in front. Additionally, the lithium battery must be easily disconnectable and removable.
These policies provide useful options for couples planning destination weddings or other special events, ensuring that their attire and equipment can be transported conveniently.
