EasyJet has announced the launch of 13 new winter routes from eight regional airports, including a historic first international service from Cornwall Airport Newquay, one of the UK's smallest commercial airports.
Newquay Airport: Small but Busy
Despite its 850-acre site, Newquay Airport features just one passenger terminal and limited facilities. Check-in typically takes only minutes, and the departure lounge is a single open space with a handful of gates and a small cafe. Yet it handles around 400,000 passengers annually, mostly on domestic flights to Manchester and London. Now, after over 13 years of operations, easyJet is launching its first international route from the Cornish hub.
New Route to Geneva
On June 18, the budget airline confirmed flights between Newquay and Geneva will begin on January 16, 2027, operating weekly on Saturdays until February 27. Currently, only Alicante, Faro, Málaga, Düsseldorf, and Zürich are served from Newquay by Ryanair, Aer Lingus, and Eurowings. This new route makes European travel easier for Cornish residents.
In March, easyJet also announced summer flights from London Gatwick to Newquay, starting June 23, 2026, with twice-weekly services on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Geneva, known as the 'city of peace,' sits at the southern tip of Lake Geneva between France and Switzerland, surrounded by the Alps. While it is one of the world's most expensive cities, comparable to New York and Singapore, its stunning scenery and sparkling waters make it a worthwhile destination for those willing to spend.
