A serious crash involving a coach and a van has shut a busy road in Carmarthenshire on Friday evening. Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to the scene on the A40 near Llandeilo at around 4.30pm.
Road closure and emergency response
The A40 remains closed in both directions from Carmarthen Road in Llandeilo to Pentrefelin, with traffic monitoring systems showing delays in the area. Police and paramedics are in attendance, and drivers have been asked to avoid the area. Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service also attended the incident, which they say is now under control.
A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesperson said: "A40 - Llandeilo to Nantgaredig is currently closed due to an emergency incident. Please avoid the area and find alternative routes for your journey. Thank you."
Recent similar incident
This crash comes just over a week after another bus crash in Carmarthenshire, which saw six people taken to hospital and 19 injured. That incident occurred on the A484 near the Kidwelly roundabout.
