Cardiff Council has begun the next phase of work to improve access to bus stops across Llandaff, Llanishen, Rhiwbina and Radyr. The upgrades are partly aimed at preventing inconsiderate parking and making it easier and safer for older people, disabled passengers, parents with prams and anyone who may find existing bus stop layouts difficult to use.
Funding and planned works
The works are supported by funding from the Welsh Government’s local transport fund, which awards funding to local authorities and regional bodies to improve local transport infrastructure, safety and active travel.
In some locations, the kerb and footway will be raised to provide more level access for people to get on and off the bus. Road markings will also be introduced to create a bus border to indicate to drivers where parking may block access to the bus stops.
Schedule of improvements
Across Llandaff, Llanishen, Rhiwbina and Radyr, improvements are scheduled at the following locations:
- Heol Uchaf, Rhiwbina: 19 to 27 October 2026
- Wenallt Road, Rhiwbina: 21 to 26 October 2026
