A car crashed into the Amor Indian restaurant in Bamford, Rochdale, on Monday, July 13, leaving the glass front completely shattered. The incident occurred at around midday on Martlet Avenue, prompting a response from emergency services.
Restaurant closed after collision
The venue announced its closure on social media, stating: "Due to unforeseen circumstances we will be closed tonight," accompanied by an image showing the extensive damage. Pictures shared online depicted the restaurant's glass front destroyed, with fire service tape cordoning off the area.
No injuries reported
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) confirmed that one fire engine from Rochdale station attended the scene shortly after 12:15 pm. A spokesperson said: “Just after 12.15pm on Monday 13 July, fire crews were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Martlet Avenue, Rochdale. One fire engine from Rochdale station quickly attended the incident, which involved a car crashing into a commercial building. Firefighters helped make the area safe before handing the scene over to Greater Manchester Police. Fire crews were in attendance for about an hour.”
There were no reports of injuries from the collision. Greater Manchester Police were also contacted for a statement but had not yet responded at the time of reporting.
