Multiple train services have been cancelled and delayed following an electrical failure at a communications centre, causing widespread travel chaos for millions of rail passengers.
Disruption expected until end of day
Network Rail has warned that services across the Midlands, Greater Manchester and the North West will either be cancelled, delayed by up to an hour, or rescheduled. The power outage has impacted several operators, including Avanti West Coast, East Midlands Railway, London Northwestern Railway, Merseyrail, Northern, and Transport for Wales.
The mass disruption is expected to last until the end of the day, according to National Rail.
