Study Reveals America's Most Stressful Airports for Travellers
America's Most Stressful Airports Revealed in New Study

A comprehensive new study has unveiled the most and least stressful airports for travellers across the United States, shedding light on the factors that contribute to passenger anxiety during air travel.

Research Methodology and Key Findings

Conducted by Mozio, a prominent ground transportation platform, the research analysed critical data from the 20 busiest airports in America. The study focused on several stress-inducing factors, including flight delays, parking expenses, and the distance from each airport to the nearest city centre. These metrics were combined to generate a stress score out of 10 for each location, providing a clear ranking of airport experiences.

Top Stressful Airports in the US

Chicago O'Hare International Airport emerged as the most stressful airport in the country, achieving a high stress score of 8.42 out of 10. This ranking is attributed to its frequent flight delays, elevated parking costs, and lengthy commutes to the city centre, which collectively heighten traveller discomfort.

Following closely, New York City's LaGuardia Airport secured the second position on the list, recognised for similar challenges in delays and accessibility. John F. Kennedy International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport tied for third place, both sharing issues with congestion and operational inefficiencies that contribute to passenger stress.

Least Stressful Airport Identified

In contrast, Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport was highlighted as the least stressful among the busiest airports. It earned this distinction due to its impressive on-time departure rates, more affordable parking fees, and shorter travel times to the urban core, offering a smoother experience for flyers.

The findings underscore the significant impact of logistical and financial factors on travel stress, prompting calls for improvements in airport management and infrastructure to enhance passenger satisfaction nationwide.
