One person was taken to hospital following a collision between a car and a motorbike on the A69 in Northumberland on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred near Haltwhistle, closing the major route between Newcastle and Carlisle for approximately three hours.
Emergency response and road closure
Emergency services were called to the scene at Bellister Bank just before 1pm. The A69 was shut in both directions between Tyne View Road and the B6322 on the outskirts of Haltwhistle. The road reopened shortly after 3.30pm.
The North East Ambulance Service confirmed that one patient was transported to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle for further treatment. A spokesperson said: "We were called to a road traffic incident on Bellister Bank in Haltwhistle on Sunday, June 21, at 12.46pm. We dispatched two ambulance crews and one patient was taken to RVI hospital for further treatment."
Injuries and investigation
