A 15-year-old boy has lost his life in a devastating collision on the M60 motorway near Stockport, leaving the community in shock.
Emergency services rushed to the scene between junctions 1 and 3 of the anti-clockwise carriageway late last night, but despite their best efforts, the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Launch Urgent Witness Appeal
Greater Manchester Police have launched an urgent appeal for information following the tragic incident. Officers are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage of the collision or events leading up to it.
Sergeant John Harrison of GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "This is an absolutely heartbreaking incident, and our thoughts are with the boy's family at this unimaginably difficult time."
Road Closure and Investigation
The motorway was closed for several hours overnight as accident investigators examined the scene. Specialist officers remain at the location today conducting thorough investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
Motorists are advised to expect delays in the area as investigations continue, with one lane remaining closed to allow forensic teams to complete their work.

The victim's family are being supported by specially trained officers as they come to terms with their loss. Police have requested that the public respect the family's privacy during this traumatic period.
