Award-Winning Yorkshire Farm Offers Cow Cuddling & Glamping
Yorkshire Farm's Award-Winning Cow Cuddling Experience

An award-winning Yorkshire farm is offering a unique countryside escape where visitors can cuddle Highland cows and stay overnight in luxury yurts. Dumble Farm, a working farm near Beverley in East Yorkshire, recently won the gold award for Experience of the Year at the prestigious VisitEngland Awards for Excellence for its therapeutic Cow Cuddling sessions.

An Unforgettable Cow-Themed Retreat

The farm provides a range of unforgettable experiences centred around its gentle Highland cattle. The signature Cow Cuddling experience encourages mindful interaction, allowing guests to find calm by stroking, brushing, and cosying up to the affectionate animals. VisitEngland praised the offering as a "therapeutic countryside escape" that lets visitors enjoy the calming effects of connecting with nature.

For those wanting to extend their visit, Dumble Farm offers a unique glamping experience. Guests can book one of the farm's luxury yurts, which continue the bovine theme with Highland cow print bedding and artwork. Each yurt features a cosy fireplace, running water, and access to a shared bathroom with a shower. Alternatively, visitors can bring their own tent, caravan, or motorhome to pitch in the adult-only field, where younger cows are often seen grazing nearby.

More Than Just Cuddles: Unique Farm Experiences

Beyond the famous cuddles, the farm has developed several other cow-centric activities. During autumn, the Calf Handling experience lets guests get up close to young Highland cows, brushing them, leading them for short walks, and naturally, getting in more cuddles.

For a broader view of the farm, the Cow Safari and Wildlife Tour takes visitors around the site on a colourful bus, with the chance to safely feed the herd from a trailer. The farm also collaborates with a local vineyard for the Herd it on the Grapevine package, which includes a tour of Laurel Vines Vineyard, a Cow Safari, and a picnic with a bottle of wine.

When booked experiences aren't taking place, guests can visit the cows' shed to meet the herd or explore a woodland area to meet the farm's goats. The farm notes that the Highland cows are often "waiting for a welcome scratch on the chin."

Exploring Historic Beverley

Located just a 15-minute drive from the farm, the historic market town of Beverley offers further exploration. Its most recognisable landmark is the magnificent Beverley Minster, a Gothic church larger than many cathedrals, with origins dating back to around 700 AD. Much of the current structure was built in the 13th century.

The 15th-century Beverley Bar, once the main gate to the town, still stands and is a tight squeeze for vehicles, controlled by traffic lights. On Saturdays, the centuries-old Beverley Market fills the main square with local traders selling artisan food, fresh produce, arts, crafts, and more.

Due to the nature of the site, all camping and cow experiences at Dumble Farm are for adults only, and dogs are not permitted. For more information on booking glamping or a bovine encounter, visit the Dumble Farm website.
