World Cup Food Costs: England Fan Spends £135 on Stadium Eats

Popular food reviewer Big Daddy B, who has 265,000 followers, documented his spending at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America. He attended England's group-stage match against Panama at MetLife Stadium in New York, sharing the cost of everything he ate and drank in a viral social media reel.

Colombian Dog and Beers Kick Off the Day

Big Daddy B initially wanted a Chilli Dog but found only Colombian Dogs available. A Colombian hot dog, or perro caliente, features a boiled sausage topped with salsa rosada (mayo and ketchup mix), caramelised pineapple sauce, shredded white cheese, and crushed crisps. It cost $10 (£7.50). He described it as "lit" and "banging", praising the beef dog and creamy salsa rosada, rating it 8.5/10.

He washed it down with two bottles of Michelob Ultra beer, costing $32 (£24).

Smash Burger and Philly Cheesesteak Disappoint

Next, he bought a Smash Burger for $10, but found it "dry and overcooked", rating it only 5/10. He also had two more Ultra beers for another $32.

Inside the stadium, he got a Philly Cheesesteak for $16 (£12), admitting it "wasn't great" compared to ones he had in Philadelphia, giving it a 6.5/10 rating.

Sweet Treats and More Drinks

For dessert, he spent $16 on two M&M blondies and a chocolate chip cookie, enjoying them in his seat. He rated them 8/10, calling them "solid". He again had two Ultra beers for $32.

At half-time, he bought two more Ultras for $32, bringing his total spend to $180 (£135).

Fans React to the Spending

The reel garnered over 1,000 likes, with many fans agreeing the expense was worthwhile. One commented: "Always worth it when it comes to a new experience." Another said: "Memories made," while a third wrote: "YOLO so forgot the price tag." A fourth added: "Special occasion, got to treat yourself." A fifth noted: "Of course it was worth it. Once in a lifetime trip. If you got it spend it."
