Drinking Wine in the Sun Makes Brits Feel Like They're on Holiday
Wine in Sun Makes Brits Feel Holiday Vibes

A new study has revealed that two-thirds of Brits associate drinking wine in the sun with being on holiday, with millennials particularly likely to feel transported away. According to research, 67% of Brits link sipping a glass of wine in sunny weather with vacation mode, while 68% of those aged 30 to 45 say it makes them feel as though they are abroad.

The survey of 1,000 Brits found that nearly three-quarters (72%) believe taste buds can mentally transport them to desired destinations. For 47% of millennials, wine choices are inspired by dream holiday spots. This phenomenon, known as 'armchair travel,' allows people to elevate everyday moments with a simple glass of wine.

Tasha Ghouri, star of Love Island and Strictly Come Dancing, has partnered with Cabana California Rosé to promote this lifestyle trend. In a new film, the 27-year-old suggests that her ultimate getaway might be as simple as sipping rosé. The video shows Tasha transitioning between mundane moments and idyllic scenes, such as a tranquil garden disrupted by hedge-trimming or a seaside fantasy revealed to be her living room.

Ghouri commented: 'I've always loved rosé because it feels like more than just a drink – it's a mood. It instantly gives you that relaxed holiday feeling, even if you're just at home with friends. With Cabana Rosé, it's about capturing that exact feeling. You don't need to go anywhere. Sometimes it's just about switching off, pouring a glass and turning an ordinary moment into something that feels special.'

Among those surveyed, one in three declared Napa Valley in California – Cabana's home state – as the wine region best matching their dream destination, ahead of New Zealand (32%) and Australia (28%). Taste preferences also play a role: almost two-thirds (63%) of Brits and 69% of millennials prefer sweeter rosé, with favourite notes including berries and stone fruits like strawberry (49%), raspberry (44%), and peach (34%).

Molly Davis of Cabana Wines said: 'Cabana is all about celebrating the good days – those that bring a relaxed, holiday-inspired mindset to wherever you are. We believe Tasha does a perfect job at bringing the Cabana feeling to life. It doesn't matter where you enjoy it – al fresco on an overcast British spring day or curled up on the sofa with friends – we believe Cabana is that summer paradise sensation bottled.'

Inspired by the sun-drenched, laid-back lifestyle of California, Cabana California Rosé combines balanced sweetness with a crisp, refreshing finish. The wine is available at major UK retailers.
